DETAIL DESCRIPTION

Two way transmission converter in automatic control system of Wiegand interface to RS485 interface

Product Model:WST-WG2RS485

Product Description:

WG2RS485 communication converter is designed for remote control where need Wiegand input but far from the control center to terminal. It a good double way transmit (bi-direction) communication device for access control system. It can transfer Wiegand 26bit or Wiegand 34bit data to RS485 data, also can transfer RS485 data to Wiegand 34bit data, standard Wiegand output 26bit data in default (Wiegand 34bit and other format as optional), and standard RS485 output hex format (ASCII as optional), the standard communication protocol based on 9600,N,8,1.

Technical parameters:

Operating voltage: DC 9V-12V;
Compatible with RS-485 standards, the 232 input all the way to independent, corresponding to Wiegand all the way out; With an external watchdog to prevent the crash.

Communication Format:
Baud Rate 9600 N 8 1

1, WG26 or WG34 input

4 byte number: 1010795316 = (hex) 3C3F8334

WG26 input (hexadecimal) 3F8334

WG34 input (hexadecimal) 3C3F8334

2, RS485 output

31 30 31 30 37 39 35 33 31 36 0D 0A

31 3,031,303,739,353,331 36 is the card number (10: 1010795316)

0D 0A is a carriage return

How to transfer data:
The converter transfer data based on standard RS232 protocol, Baud Rate 9600 N 8 1

There have two mainly application for data transfer:

1. Transfer Wiegand output data to RS485

In this application, request transfer Wiegand output data to host via our converter, for example RFID reader, barcode scanner, fingerprint reader, face identify machine and any other devices have Wiegand output, usually it output Wiegand 26bit or 34bit, so you can connect this device with our Wiegand input, and the converter shall transfer to our RS485 interface.

Most time, RFID reader output Wiegand output as HEX, for example

4 byte number: 1010795316 = (hex) 3C3F8334

WG26 input (hexadecimal) 3F8334

WG34 input (hexadecimal) 3C3F8334

So RS485 output ASCII like this:

1010795316 for Wiegand 34bit (3C3F8334)

06333588 for Wiegand 26bit (3F8334)

0D 0A is a carriage return

Wiegand 26bit or 34bit data output transfer to our converter, our converter output max 10 digit ASCII number, for example: 1234567890, over this, the data shall send out separate.

2. Transfer ASCII output data to Wiegand output

In this application, most customers transfer data from their own software, for example, sending 1234567890 from COM to our RS232 input interface, so our Wiegand output interface shall output data as Wiegand 34bit, connect to access controller, you can see access control software show a card number: 1234567890. The same application, if a barcode scanner connect to access controller via our converter, so when the barcode scanner output 11223344, so the access control software shall show 11223344.
